Oh boy, where to begin! In case you hadn't heard, people tend to get depressed during the winter, and artists are known to get depressed easily as well. So as an artist, who decided to start a business right before winter (dumb, I know), I was rather depressed to not have a ton of clients. All the self doubts about "not being good enough" and "I'll never make enough money to do this" were spinning around in my head, when out of nowhere, I get this AMAZING, encouraging email from Jennine.
"Hello! I absolutely LOVE the lighting that is in your pictures! ... I've been searching for about 6 months for a creative photographer who could capture a glowy light. I searched "photographer Seattle" in Facebook and your page came up on the list. I thought your logo was cute and when I looked at your page, I was instantly impressed with the quality, lighting, and creativity displayed in your photos! I can't express how happy I am that I waited to take Senior Pictures, and that I found your page!"
Um, no freaking way! To have a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR say that? I was beyond ecstatic. Like, jumped up and down, almost in tears of joy. And every step of the way, this girl was a ROCK STAR. So forgiving when I had to reschedule for work, and totally flexible due to weather. We planned and planned, and we are both SO glad that we did! We got the exact lighting she wanted simply by waiting for a clear day. Totally worth the crazy schedule changing we had to do. And I found my joy in photography again
I owe so much to this girl, and her sweet mom as well, for not only boosting my spirits, but for really showing me WHAT I want to do with my business. I can't wait to see where this talented, caring, intelligent, gorgeous girl goes in life. For now, she's moving on to college life at UW! Congrats girl, and thank you again for being such an inspiration to me!
