Mommy & Me Mini Sessions - Portland, OR

Having family in Portland, OR, and having lived there for 19 years of my life, I have a lot of clients down there! So to make the 6 hour round-trip drive "worth it", I like to hold mini session marathons a couple times a year. This year's first one was in celebration of Mother's Day, so a month before I went down and met with three amazing moms and their "little" ones (two of which are returning clients!).

First up we have Shannon and Hunter - if you've been following me for any length of time, you'll recognized these faces! I love these two so much, and even though Hunter decided to be a little stinker, his mom and I have a pretty good routine down for getting good pictures of him, hehe. Since her older two boys are not having the whole "picture" thing, Hunter is fated to be in front of the camera a LOT while he's little. (Stay tuned for his 1 year session blog post!)

Next up we have Jeanne and her not-so-little-anymore daughter Grace. I was so glad that these two got booked at the last minute (literally, the night before!), since Grace is going to be a teenager soon! We had a lot of fun, there was a lot of laughter, and (hopefully) some great memories for Jeanne and Grace to have when the teenage years make things rough sometimes (growing up can suck!).

Last but not least! Breona and Gia (SO excited to see these two again!) showed up with so so many adorable outfits for Gia! After we narrowed it down, we not only grabbed some adorable shots of her with her sweet mama, but we were able to get some magical shots of Gia & Hunter together (Breona and Shannon book together for a reason! Hehe). Enjoy!

Just look at these two cuties right here! Goodness:

I'm a Big Brother - Mukilteo, WA Maternity Session

I totally believe that your business reflects you as a person. I've never been so happy, or had more awesome clients, than when I am happy with myself. A little life lesson for you before I dive into the wonderful maternity session I had with Jessie and her family.

Okay, again, I'M SO BEHIND on blogging. All these babies are already BORN. But they are healthy, and that's the important thing, so I'll just go and show you the gorgeous images from this happy, growing family's session!

Jessie was a gem to work with! She had so much excitement for the session, we had a pretty awesome day for weather, and her growing family was just so stinkin' cute!

I mean really, can you get ANY cuter?! So much love!

He's pretty excited to be a big brother - that's his favorite book, obviously :) So sweet!

Perfection. These two are seriously way too amazing.

I seriously want this one to be turned into a giant canvas. Such a gorgeous mother, in such a beautiful setting!

Oh, and she did her own hair. Crazy talented!

And yes, it's a GIRL! Congrats to Jon and Jessie, and big brother Eli <3

Jennine's Glamorous Senior Session - Snoqualmie, WA

Oh boy, where to begin! In case you hadn't heard, people tend to get depressed during the winter, and artists are known to get depressed easily as well. So as an artist, who decided to start a business right before winter (dumb, I know), I was rather depressed to not have a ton of clients. All the self doubts about "not being good enough" and "I'll never make enough money to do this" were spinning around in my head, when out of nowhere, I get this AMAZING, encouraging email from Jennine.

"Hello! I absolutely LOVE the lighting that is in your pictures! ... I've been searching for about 6 months for a creative photographer who could capture a glowy light. I searched "photographer Seattle" in Facebook and your page came up on the list. I thought your logo was cute and when I looked at your page, I was instantly impressed with the quality, lighting, and creativity displayed in your photos! I can't express how happy I am that I waited to take Senior Pictures, and that I found your page!"

Um, no freaking way! To have a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR say that? I was beyond ecstatic. Like, jumped up and down, almost in tears of joy. And every step of the way, this girl was a ROCK STAR. So forgiving when I had to reschedule for work, and totally flexible due to weather. We planned and planned, and we are both SO glad that we did! We got the exact lighting she wanted simply by waiting for a clear day. Totally worth the crazy schedule changing we had to do. And I found my joy in photography again

I owe so much to this girl, and her sweet mom as well, for not only boosting my spirits, but for really showing me WHAT I want to do with my business. I can't wait to see where this talented, caring, intelligent, gorgeous girl goes in life. For now, she's moving on to college life at UW! Congrats girl, and thank you again for being such an inspiration to me!

Little Princess - Monroe, WA Baby Session

I don't do a ton of baby sessions anymore, but when you have an adorable little girl in the family... you make an exception. Miss Sadie is quite the little princess, but for the most part, she humors her mama and I putting all sorts of adorable bows on her cute little red haired noggin'. Here's a few shots of her 4 month torture...I mean photo session (the last picture shows her "I'm done" face):

Hello, Mamas! - Everett, WA Maternity Sessions

As an artist, I am constantly wanting to try something new, and enhance my skills. I came to realize that I had never done a maternity shoot before, so guess what? I went out, found me some expecting mamas, and set up a couple mini maternity sessions to test my abilities as a photographer. I think the end results are beautiful, and embody my main goal as a professional photographer: to make women feel beautiful, no matter the current "shape" of their body. And I find few things more beautiful than motherhood!

First up was Amy: She was expecting (and has since had) her first baby girl, to join her two boys. I loved seeing just how excited she was to finally get her girl! I felt the same way when I finally was "given" a little sister (which I asked my mom for since I was 5 years old, hehe). Boys are wonderful, and of course loved just as much, but they don't take kindly to being "dressed up". So enjoy a sneak into these bling-filled pictures from Amy's Mini Maternity Session: (Bling made by Sleepy Shimmer.)

After Amy was Cynthia and her whole family, her husband and two boys, Demitrius and Dairius. On the way was baby boy #3, Daemon (he has since made his entrance to the world and is a happy, healthy boy!). It was a little rough to start off, with the boys being, well, boys, but we soon got some great shots of them, the whole family, and they even allowed for some of just mom & dad! Then we sent the boys away and grabbed some shots of just mama, and viola! See the magic we made together at Cynthia's Mini Maternity Session:
